Interest Rates are Rising
 

Interest rates have been very low over the past decade, and it can be hard to remember a time when we earned a decent rate of interest on our GICs. Good news for savers: rates are rising. The rate shown in the graph below is the Bank of Canada 10-year bond yield, which we can use as a proxy for rates in Canada.
